A Good Pedicure is Hard to Find

 25.5.10

Since moving to my new town last year, I've been on the hunt for the perfect nail salon. I cannot find one I like that is consistently good in terms of quality, cleanliness and service.

The first place I tried was a fancy-looking Nail Spa - a salon totally dedicated to nails {ie. no waxing, etc.}. It took me 3 weeks to get an appointment, so I thought it was going to be fabulous. Not so much. The actually pedicure was nice {individual cubbies w/ chairs and personal tv}, but my bio gel manicure was sloppy and uneven. I should have known when I was chatting with the manicurist who told me she just started there, and they have a high turnover because they're tough on their employees. Weird. I never went back.

Since then I've tried a variety of nail salons and I've always been a bit disappointed. I'm not demanding or anything either. All I want is:

1) a tidy and even eye brow wax;

2) gel nails w/ a french manicure with an even white line that is an appropriate width;

3) a pedicure that doesn't cut me, hurt me, and polished toes that don't smudge;

4) good, consistent, and friendly service;

5) a tv and/or a decent selection of magazines.

Tonight I went to a cheap place. If I'm going to be disappointed, I don't want to pay much for it. Let's just say I got what I paid for.

At least I got to use my new nail polish that my lovely friend Eujean got me for my b-day {OPI - Malaga Wine - pictured above!}. It was the best part of my experience at this salon. Seriously!
