Thrifting Thursday - Even MORE Kijiji & As-Is Ikea!
28.7.11
Remember this post? Remember how I was looking for the tallboy Hemnes in white to match my 8 drawer dresser find from Kijiji.
{Please tell me that I'm NOT the only one who does this? Food is cheap, decent and it's VERY kid-friendly!}
EZ & Little A both approved too!
Capturing the two of these kiddos in a decent shot was difficult. And I didn't want my vegetable medallions to get too cold. Mmmmm...vegetable medallions...

Sometimes I can't actually believe that my little girl is big enough to sit in a high chair! Wasn't she just born? What happened to the little nugget?

I haven't set it all up yet, but I'll post final reveal photos when I'm done. Whenever that'll be :)

You would think for a first-timer, she'd show a little apprehension, but she ate all her cereal. Let's just say, if she could lick the bowl clean -- she would have!
Full tummy = Happy bebe!

Mummy - may I please have some more?
She's definitely got the hang of using her spoon!
EZ is 14 months today
9.3.10
I now understand when parents say kids grow too fast. In the last month, there have been amazing changes with EZ. This kid is growing up.
Here's a list of EZ's current favourite things:
- Singing and chatting with us in the car. He's stringing together multiple syllables, just like he's having a conversation.
- French bread. Whole wheat.
- The Letter "B" - and everything that begins with "B" {ie. ball, bottle, broom, bear etc.}
- Music. Kindermusik classes. His wooden drum, chimeballs, and jingle sticks. Oh, and Lady Gaga - particularly Bad Romance.
- Running. Especially running to kick the ball.
- Opening doors.
- Sesame Street & The Wiggles.
- Reading in his orange chair in his room.
- Colouring pretty pictures for mum & dad.
- Chasing Ginger up the stairs. Also feeding Ginger her treats.
- Playing at the park and going for walks to get the mail.
- His new Horse-y harness, so he can roam a bit freer when we're out {More deets to come in another post}.
a update on the random happenings of our family
25.1.10
- Things on the homefront are back to normal.
- EZ is 100% and no residual effects from his episode last weekend.
- EZ's starting to walk. More than just 2 steps at a time. He's up to about 6 steps, then realizes he's walking and drops to his knees. He loves to kick a soccer ball {or any ball for that matter}, so learning to walk/run will make kicking the ball much more fun.
- EZ LOVES bread. He's a bit of a carb-loader {like his mum??}. He doesn't seem to discriminate between baguettes, tortillas or just regular bread.
- I took a First Aid course this weekend {much to my chagrin}, but it was surprisingly awesome. I feel like I have much more knowledge and confidence, should anything happen. Well, that may be a stretch, but at least I have an idea what to do!
- EZ started his Kindermusik class this past weekend. He LOVES it {of course!} - thanks to Nana and Grandad for helping us with this class!
- I canceled my Miami trip this week {seemed a little selfish and indulgent to be sunning myself in Florida when EZ was in the hospital last week}. Instead I'll be hanging out near home, spending time with EZ, going to the gym, getting more practice at BellyUp!, and pampering myself {spa, tanning, mani/pedi/wax/hair}!
- My girlfriend and I are going to a Spa in wine country - I'm going to have a treatment called "Dark Chocolate Mousse Body Wrap and Facial" - WOWZA!
- I'm excited for the TWO weddings we're going to this weekend!
Bobbing for Beans!

Nope. He just sticks his sweet face into his highchair table, and grabs the food with his mouth.
We're such bad parents!
Did I mention EZ can say the dog's name, but can't say MaMa?
6 months ago and today
10.7.09
My sweet boy arrived into this world. Life has dramatically changed, but always for the better. When I look into his darling face, especially when he smiles and sticks out his tongue, my heart melts. I am so absolutely in love with this kid. And I think everyone else should be too.
Ezra can now crawl. Within the last two weeks, we've gone from excited that he can move 2 inches, now he's motoring all over the place. He's so fast and determined. His current crawl is the "army crawl", but he's already lifting his torso off the ground and is up on all fours, so I imagine it won't be long until he transitions to another form of crawling.
I'm excited to start trying some new foods with him. He likes his oatmeal cereal. The brown rice cereal was definitely not his fav. I'm going to try barley cereal too. Veggies and fruits are next. We're still desperately trying to wean him, but I'm such a sucker for my kid that we haven't gotten very far.
Ezra loves to laugh. He laughs especially hard when you tickle under his chin. He loves his tongue and sticks it out whenever he gets the chance. He also likes to blow raspberries. He likes to hang out in his diaper, even though I have the cutest outfits for him. He likes to play with his sister Ginger. He likes to go to the park with his cousins Hannah & Noah. He loves my Blackberry. His kid-friendly mobile phone soft toy just doesn't do it for him.
Ezra is simply a wonderful, well-behaved boy, who loves his mummy & daddy, and always has a big smile on his face. We are so blessed.
It's been a crazy few weeks, and I can't believe I haven't blogged. I've definitely missed it, I just haven't had the time to sit at the computer and think. Here's what's new in a nutshell:
1. My parents bought a new house in my new town. YAY!!! Seriously, I'm SO thrilled! I've been helping them out with various things. Now we get to stage their house for sale!
2. I went to a naturopath today. Ummm...not so impressed. Not my cup of tea. I'm more of doctor person. Not into alternative medicine. All he did was poke my leg a few times, watched me walk a few times, then ask me how I feel. He's prescription for me was the "Three Ws": i) WATER (drink often, especially when tired); ii) WALK (every 1/2 hr for about 5 mins; iii) WAIT (don't scratch an itch etc, let my body heal itself). I think I was just expecting more from him, like vitamins and miracle healing and such. Instead, all I was told to do was relax {which NEVER works when someone tells you to relax - all you can think about it how much you have to do!} nd do my "Three Ws". I doubt I'll see a naturopath again.
3. Physio is going great. Can I just say I LOVE my physiotherapist and clinic?!?! They are so great there. They take such good care of both me and EZ. My physiotherapist even hooked me up with her old play yard {even though it's Eddie Bauer - ugghhh AND has some plaid on it - double ugghhh!!!}. I always feel stronger and energized when I leave physio. YAY PHYSIO!
4. My church calling is keeping me pretty busy too. The Young Women are great. We have such fun. It's A LOT of work, let me tell ya, and sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed, they are totally worth it. These girls are just amazing. So bright, so fresh, so inspiring!
5. I've been scrapbooking. My cousin Shopgirl and I are making a scrapbook for my aunt's 50th wedding anniversary {shhhh...it's a secret!}. I've don 27 pages in the last 3 days. If you're not a scrapbooker, let me tell you that this is A LOT of work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but time was of the essence so I had to get it down before we leave tomorrow. With everything else going on, the only time I have to scrapbook is from 11pm on - I've slept only 3-4 hrs/night. I'm tired, but the pages look amahhzzinggg!!!
6. I'm going back to work one month from today. I am in denial.
7. We get the house in 20 days.
8. I lost 3 lbs in the last week. Thank you Skinnygirl! Read more...
I think we have a winner for weaning!

After many tries, I think Ezra will take the bottle with these Adiri nursing bottles, and Enfamil powdered formula.
Ezra is 5 months old today
Our little dude is 5 months old today. He's growing so quickly, and is cuter every day. Here are some recent highlights:
- He's developing a routine {with mummy's help}, with naps in the morning & afternoon - even when mummy is on the go!
- He's eating organic brown rice cereal & oatmeal. Next we'll be trying some veggies. Mummy bought a recipe book {yes - I bought a cookbook that told me the "recipe" to mash avocados. good grief!}
- He has two bottom teeth poking through - he's a trooper through the teething process
- He's moving to his crib at bedtime and for naps (that is, when mummy isn't dragging him to the shops or for lunches!)
- He's linking his tummy rolls, and is almost on-the-go! You can see that he's just aching to run like the wind when he just figures out how to do it!
- He loves sticking out his tongue and playing with his toes!
- He loves sitting in his Bumbo chair to read or just watch the world go by
- He loves reading and singing fun songs with mum! His favourite song is "Zoom Zoom Zoom!"
- He's getting the hang of the cowboy jolly jumper, lent to him by his friend (thanks Christina!)
- He's much better travelling in the car. He loves to play with his toys, chew everything in sight, and chat with anyone
- He's smiling and laughing all the time. What a happy baby!
**By the way, we got a clue and quickly bought plastic-y type bibs for feeding time. Makes a big difference.
